Financial industry needs to acknowledge “shadow retirement” business

Wayne Cutler on “The CEO Show” said, “There’s a real opportunity to help people manage the shadow retirement money. Of course, this won’t be easy and it certainly won’t happen overnight. Most financial institutions are not prepared for this. They have built organizations, processes, systems, and compensation structures to keep official retirement money walled off from shadow funds. These walls must come down. Banking business systems need to be able to work with individuals across their entire nest egg.”
